The Alberta government will be hosting a “Disability Innovations in Employment and Technology Learning Symposium” on May 9 – 10, 2013. This two day event, which brings together local presenters and experts from across North America, focuses on employment approaches for persons with disabilities and features assistive technologies to assist persons with disabilities in employment.

You are invited to attend a Learning Symposium that will bring together local presenters and experts from across North America. The two days will focus on employment approaches for persons with disabilities and feature technologies that assist persons with disabilities to access employment, participate in community and live independently.
Over the course of the two days, participants will hear from and interact with content experts who will present on successful programs for Albertans with disabilities.
• Be introduced to a service model that focuses on improving employment access for persons with disabilities.
• Learn about current innovations being used in Alberta to support the employment of persons with disabilities and entrepreneurial approaches for persons with disabilities.
• Learn about technologies that support persons with disabilities.
• Discuss further actions that can be taken by agencies, self-advocates, and government.
Attendance is very flexible. You can attend in person, via webcast or a combination of both. While there is no fee to register, registration is necessary and will open soon. You will be notified with a second e-mail.
