With great sadness, the Edmonton Cerebral Palsy Association has to announce the passing of a long standing member – Adam Thompson. Adam passed away on Wednesday December 12 at the University Hospital with his parents at his side.
Adam was born with a rare form of hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and as a result he has spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy. He loved meeting people and being the centre of attention. Adam enjoyed hockey, football and hanging out at the mall with friends. He served as Easter Seals 2010 Youth Ambassador. His sense of humor was his strongest attribute along with his easy going attitude towards life. His perseverance was inspiring.
The Thompson family have been members of the EPCA for over 20 years with Darlene (Adam’s mother) serving as President for 14 years and Lloyd (father) sitting on various committees . Adam was preceded by his brother Ryan.
A memorial service is tentatively planned for January 12, 2013.
On behalf of the Executive of the ECPA our thoughts and prayers are with the Thompson family at this difficult time.
